SHORTCUT OF STEPS

Roll out puffed pastry sheets.
Ingredients used—cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar.
Butter is the glue, so to speak.
Combine the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together.
After buttering the pastry dough, sprinkle the sugar spice mixture over pastry and top with the apples.
Place other pastry sheet of four over the layer of apple and sugar pastry bottom. Crimp shut with a fork and a little water. Place a slit on top to vent.
Bake the pastry for 20 to 30 minutes or until puffed and lightly browned.

Easy Oven Baked Apple Puffed Pastry Strudel

Delicious apple strudel with sugar and spices baked in the oven using puffed pastry dough. So skip the trip and bake it yourself. It’s just that easy!

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Pepperridge Farm Puffed Pastry or other
  • 15 oz can Apple Pie Filling
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 cup Light or Dark Brown Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Roll out chilled puffed pastry with a rolling pin.

  3. In a bowl, whisk or stir to combine the sugar and spices.

  4. Cut puffed pastry in to 4 sections. Butter each and then sprinkle with sugar spice mixture.

  5. Top with the apples and seal each piece with the other pastry half that has also been cut into fours. Crimp edges using a little water and a fork. Place a slit on the top of the pastry to allow it to vent.

  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until puffed and lightly browned.
