Easy Fried Fig Flavored French Toast

Jump to Recipe

If you’re someone that enjoys that warm and sweet taste of French toast every now and then, try making it using fruit or jam spread instead of sugar as the traditional sweetener.

What I noticed from making my Fried Fig Flavored French Toast is that the fruit spread gives the toast a crispier bite and adds more texture than possibly even sugar.

As far as sweetness is concerned the toast took on the flavor of the fruit spread. However, if after sampling the custard you find you would like it a tad sweeter, than add a minimal amount of white or brown sugar coupled with the fruit jam.
