Easy Easter Cinnamon Sugar Challah Twists

Jump to Recipe

With Easter and Resurrection Sunday a week from today, I decided to bake up a special treat for my nieces and nephews. However, this dessert also had the adults drooling—my Easy Easter Cinnamon Sugar Challah Twists.

Easy Easter Challah Twists

There’s nothing complicated about this easy dessert treat and plus it only requires a few ingredients. To me, these type of recipes are the absolute best and I had fun baking this one up and you will too. The presentation alone is egg-specially adorable.

ADAPTATIONS

Some adaptations to this is to maybe swap out the jelly beans for chocolate filled Easter eggs or maybe these colorful keto marshmallows.

Another way to modify and make this easy recipe even more sweet and scrumptious would be to swap out the biscuit dough for cookie or pastry dough instead.

The process I followed and simple steps are listed below with the recipe following.

SHORT CUT OF STEPS

Separate 8 biscuits.
Roll and stretch out to lengthen dough.
Coat both sides with honey. Then cover with sugar cinnamon mixture.
Place only a few of the jelly beans on, or wait till fully baked and immediately press jelly beans in the creases of dough.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Biscuits or cookie or pastry dough would also work.
  • Jelly Beans
  • 2 tbsp Zero Sugar Honey or your choice
  • 1/4 cup Swerve Light Brown Sugar or your choice
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 360 degrees.

  2. Separate 8 biscuits.

  3. Roll and stretch out to lengthen dough. Pinching top end, twist and cross dough pieces together, and pinching again to secure bottom end of twist,

  4. Baste each twist with honey, coating both sides.

  5. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture on both sides.

  6. Place twists on a sprayed pan lined with parchment paper that has also been sprayed or buttered.

  7. Insert only a few jelly beans in between the creases of the dough. NOTE: However, I recommend immediately inserting the jelly beans, egg candies or keto marshmallows either half-way through the baking process or immediately after baking and removal from the oven, as the heat from the oven caused a few to fall off or soften.

  8. Bake for 15 minutes and twists are a light golden brown.

  9. Add jelly beans or choice of Easter candies in the creases of this makeshift Challah. 😊
