Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Vegan or Organic Butter or your choice
  • 1 cup cup water
  • 1 tbsp Sugar organic
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour unbleached
  • 3 Large Eggs free range
  • 1/4 cup Sugar organic
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • Canola or Vegetable Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. On medium high heat, melt the butter and sugar, and then add a cup of water. Bring to a quick boil. Immediately remove from heat.

  2. Combine the flour and salt and add to the butter-sugar mixture. With a wooden spoon, stir until the flour is incorporated and dough forms.

  3. Blend in by hand, three eggs, adding one at a time. The mixture might appear crumbly, however, continue to stir until it comes together to form a ball.

  4. Using a pastry bag with a star tip, pipe out dough to form small to medium sized fries.  If making immediately, drop into hot oil at 375 to 400 degrees and cook until golden brown, otherwise freeze for a couple hours for easy handling later.

  5. Immediately roll and coat fries in the cinnamon sugar mixture, and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

If you do not have a pastry bag, as I did not at this particular time, than use a large freezer bag, and cut off the tip of one corner. Another option is using a piece of saran wrap, roll pieces of the dough into small balls, then squeeze and press it to form into the shape of a crimped fry.

As always, I use organic ingredients in my recipes whenever possible.
