Not A Big Fan Of Hummus? Try This One. Kalamata Mediterranean Hummus

I shared in an earlier post my recipe for making tomato chips as I like to call them. However, now on to the other part of this Mediterranean dish that I had the pleasure of not only making but feasting on as well. It is a dip that not everyone is a big fan of and it’s hummus. However, before you shut the kitchen door on me, why not give this one a shot? My Kalamata Mediterranean Hummus.

Kalamata Mediterranean Hummus

Humm say what! So let’s talk hummus. It is a dish made using garbanzo beans coupled with tahini. Tahini is an Arabic condiment that is a smooth silky sesame paste that is oftentimes used in conjunction with garbanzo (chick peas) to make hummus. I guess you can say they’re kinda like kissing cousins. 🙂

The addition of the tahini helps to soften the fairly firm texture and exterior of the beans when blended together. In short, it makes the hummus creamy and smooth.

So now comes the flavoring of the hummus, which is not exactly a food star, despite a few hummus loyalists, as it is typically considered bland and blah, and is not much of a crowd pleaser. Therefore, it needs to be dressed up quite a bit with seasonings and spices and everything nice, and hopefully that is what I have done here to now convert you to hummus.

FYI. The opinions here are strictly my own from prior experiences and past observations being a foodie with a family, friends and colleagues.
