Melon-Wholly Green Smoothie

Smoothies, of all flavors and blends, have gained enormous popularity over the past few years, as people’s desire, including mine, has heightened towards consuming more nutritionally satisfying and wholesome foods as well as that of drinks to boot. So I’m sure you can guess what happened next? You got it—smoothie and other fitness drink cafes begin to steadily pop up all over the States to meet the need of the health-conscious consumer.

The great NEWS is just like the concept and explosion of meal delivery kits, there is now the equal convenience of home delivery of groceries to mix up your requested smoothie recipe (5 selections to date and growing) without the guess work by you and made up with relative ease.

At Green Blender and a host of other delivery services you choose your smoothie recipe and your weekly delivery of “organic ingredients” arrive right at your front doorstep. Though the price per serving is much like you would pay for your tropical drink, what I like about the delivery option, is the convenience of being able to skip the grocery store trip for any missing ingredients or jumping in the car to head to a nearby Café, whenever I’m in the mood for a luscious smoothie. Plus, it’s all ORGANIC too!

In support of the locals, one of my favorite places to frequent is my local Tropical Smoothies Café, where I revel in sipping on their refreshing and my absolute fave, their “Kiwi Quencher.”  Nevertheless, I must admit I have found it equally rewarding and quite satisfying to simply blend up or create my own, especially during those times when my fridge is fully stocked with tasty ripe fruits and hearty veggies (e.g. strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, banana, spinach, carrots, kale, etc.). Anyway, with that being said, I want to share a yummy recipe of my own which I refer to as my “Melon-Wholly Smoothie.” Enjoy! 😉
