Rustic pastry basket for holding and chomping on canned milk chocolate Easter eggs.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Roll out pastry sheet on confectioners sugar surface.
Cut sheet into 9 squares. Combine the honey and water for basting the dough pieces.
Baste each pastry dough square with honey and water combo (top side only). Then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Place each pastry square in a nonstick or sprayed muffin pan at a diagonal.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Let pastries cool and set on a wire rack.
Sprinkle with combined cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Fill each pastry basket with milk chocolate eggs. Do not overfill in order to avoid breaking the pastry bread basket.i used 4 mini eggs which worked nicely, but it will depend on the size of each one.
If you prefer, the chocolate eggs can be substituted with jelly beans or other candies.
Whenever possible choose organic ingredients, including candies due to artificial coloring.
