Maple Sausage and Honey Pizza Rounds with Peppers and Onions

Savory maple sausage combined with the taste of honey and sautéed red peppers and red onions makes this anytizer a simply sweet one!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Red Onion chopped
  • 2 tbsp Red Pepper chopped
  • 1 -1/2 cups Ground Maple Sausage
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 heaping tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Yellow or Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 2 tbsp Chives chopped

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, saute onions and peppers in a little bit of olive oil until slightly tender.

  2. Add the ground maple sausage and cook till just browned.

  3. Then add honey, mustard, salt and pepper to the meat mixture. 

  4. Top mixture on top of home-made or prepared pizza dough that has been cut into 4 inch rounds.

  5. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until pizza crust lightly browned and baked through.

  6. Drizzle each with maple syrup and garnish with chopped chives.
