Mama’s Simple Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

A simply made, warm Peach Cobbler with a complete sugar and butter crust, warm spices, sweet peaches and chewy dumplings inside like my mama used to bake.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ready-Made or Home-Made Pie or Pastry Dough Sheets my mother made her own dough
  • 2 16 oz Can Peaches
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • Pinch Salt
  • 2 tbsp Coarse Sugar Crystals
  • 4 Oz Butter Cut up in chunks for the top crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In a 9x12 baking dish, add peaches. Season with spices and the salt.

  3. Add pieces of dough into the peach mixture to make dumplings.

  4. Cover with the rolled out dough sheet. Pierce the dough in the center release any steam from cooking.

  5. Sprinkle coarse sugar all over the top of the dough for added sweetness and bite. Also, dot all over with butter chunks.

  6. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
