Ingredients

For the apple filling

  • 6 Apples, diced or 2, 15 ounce Apple Pie Filling, if preferred I prefer MacIntosh or Granny Smith apples.
  • 1 /2 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 4 Tbsp Butter unsalted
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

For the crisp topping

  • 3/4 cup Flour
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar dark or light
  • 3/4 cup Pecans, chopped
  • 3/4 cup Oats
  • 1 Stick Butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Add 4 tablespoons of butter to a pan on medium heat.

  3. Add the chopped apples, sugar and cinnamon to the pan of melted butter.

  4. Allow the apples to cook for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the apples to get tender and a thick syrup to form.

  5. Then stir in vanilla and remove pan from off of the heat. Allow the apple filling to cool down a bit before assembling the crisp.

  6. Meanwhile, add the flour, sugar, pecans, and oats into a bowl. Mix to combine all of the ingredients together.

  7. Next, pour in the melted butter and stir until combined. The contents will be crumbly in consistency.

  8. Top each ramekin with the warmed apple mixture and follow with a heaping helping of the sugar pecan crumble.

  9. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
