Now you can decide to keep this simple by buying storebought, easy to assemble brownie mix or feel free to make the keto friendly almond flour brownie mix version that I’ve included here.
It is low carb being that it’s sugar free. The only carb here are the ready-made store brought pie crusts. However, again you can feel free to make your own–that is, an almond flour pie crust, in order to further minimize the carbohydrates in this tasty dessert recipe. However, I wanted to keep it simple and quick and easy to assemble.
So, no matter what you decide, this is a totally unique and scrumptious brownie and pie recipe that you and your family will enjoy including in your recipe index and in your food repertoire for years to come!
RECIPE
Mini Sugar Free (Low Carb) Walnut Almond Brownie Pies
Delicious mini chewy and sugar free brownies filling in flaky pie crusts.
Ingredients
- 1 box Brownie Mix Package Follow box instructions
- 1 package Mini Pie Crusts Store brought (comes with 12) or make your own
- 1/2 or 1 cup Chopped Walnuts To make 6 mini pies use 1/2 cup; for 12 mini pies, use 1 cup walnuts.
For Almond Flour Walnut Brownies
- 3/4 cup Almond Flour
- 3 tbsp Butter, unsalted melted
- Dash Salt
- 1/4 cup Buttermilk (or whole milk or milk of choice) Adjust ingredients and use more if making 12 servings
- 2 tbsp Cacao Powder
- 1/2 cup Dark or semi sweet chocolate chips sugar free
- 1/2 cup Dark or semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 tsp Almond Extract
- 1/4 cup Walnuts chopped
- Swerve Confectioners Sugar, optional Dust over tops of the pies
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

For boxed brownies, follow the instructions, using ingredients included on box, as well as adding in the chocolate chips and walnuts to the batter.

Add the batter by the teaspoon into the pie crust just a tiny bit below the tops of the crusts, being careful to not overfill.

Bake for 15 minutes or until crust is lightly golden brown and brownies are done.
For the Sugar Free Walnut Almond Brownies

In a saucepan on the stove and on medium high, add the butter, the almond flour and salt, being careful to stir and cook the flour for a couple of minutes. (Note: It will form a clumpy dough and eventually form a thick, rough batter once all of the ingredients are added and combined.

Pour and stir (or whisk) in the buttermilk, cacao powder and chocolate chips, vanilla and almond extracts, stirring continuously allowing the brownie dough to come together, and the chocolate to completely melt. Remove from the stovetop. Lastly, stir in the chopped walnuts.

Once cooled, add the brownie dough batter into each of the unbaked pie crusts. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 15 minutes, or until the pie crusts are golden brown and brownies are done.

Dust with confectioners sugar over the tops of the brownie pies if desired.
