While shopping at my local Sprouts Farmers Market, this doozy of a delight caught my eye—this Jalapeño Cheese Bread.
In the bakery, there were so many delicious breads like Focaccia and others that I saw with creative eyes while meal planning for today.
Many of the savory breads I saw I imagined could not only be joined with a main course but also become the stand-alone or main star on our kitchen table— just like this reconstructed Chicken Jalapeño and Olive Cheese Bread.
See I had actually gone to the store to pickup a few missing ingredients and items in preparation to make hand pies. My dough was in the fridge already made up and was set to defrost. However, there was a change of plans.
Though you could totally make this bread yourselves with flour, water and active dry yeast and top and stuff it with jalapeños and your choice of cheese—why not instead allow some things to already be prepared for you and make your cooking and baking life a breeze.
Well, today was one of those days for me and so this is a shortcut recipe that did not involve baking my own bread, but was ready to serve and eat—and already filled with cheese and stuffed with jalapeños. So it definitely has lots of heat to it. However, if you can’t take the heat, just remove as many jalapeños as you want from off the surface and inside the crevices of the bread, but either way you’ll still want to have plenty of water on standby to drink. 🥵
I merely added chopped cooked chicken that I prepared especially for this bread, topped with a few kalamata olives and added lots of more cheese to make a delicious easy peasy main course that only had to be warmed in the oven for 7 to 10 minutes and the rest is history.
